IV Sedation

IV Sedation

Both of our surgeons are board certified by the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and are licensed to perform oral surgery procedures under IV sedation/GA in our accredited surgical office. Currently, the vast majority of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures are performed in an ambulatory basis, and at least 25% are performed under office based- sedation or general anesthesia.

Patients having any type of IV anesthesia (conscious sedation, deep sedation or general anesthesia) will need to bring someone with them the day of surgery, and must have no food or drink, with the exception of prescription medications for 6 hours prior to surgery. At the initial visit and consultation, our doctors will discuss the various anesthesia options with the patient and choose the most appropriate modality for the patient’s needs
